I am not a religious person but I am a Deist. I believe in a Creator, a Creator with a plan. I have done quite a bit of research in many religions and here are my thoughts on Jesus.

Whether he is the son of God or not one has to admit, no single human being has had such a dramatic effect of the world, history and humanity as Jesus. It is really remarkable when one realizes that he only preached for about three years (before that he was a carpenter) yet there are few places in the world 2,007 years after his death where his name and story are not known.

It is astounding that a man who was not of Royal blood, was not a great general, did not rule a nation and only did some preaching for a few years has achieved this feat. This, even though the printed word was extremely rare and most of the known world was illiterate. How his story and teaching were kept alive for over three hundred years before the bible was compiled is also hard to believe.

Whatever this Jesus was, he was certainly no ordinary man. No other man, no ruler, no general no Pharaoh has had such an impact.

Is Jesus the Son of God? I don't know but if the Son of God ever did walk the earth a pretty good case could be made that this was he.

It is pretty hard to find any fault with his teachings, either. "Love each other". still seems like a good idea.

To write one more Gospel is very little to relate about the Lord Jesus. What is written about Jesus in for Gospels is the truth, it is my opinion. No one can love people with such a great love as Jesus do. No one can be compared to Him in mercy. His love does not have bounds and His mercy is higher than all heavens. All willing people can by saved by the greatest grace of our Lord God Jesus Christ.

The most powerful being yet the most gentle. Loving, merciful, the way the truth and the light. Words cannot describe the love that I have for him, The pain and persecution he faced to save us....he feels my pain he knows what persecution and judgement is like. He is love and there is no greater true love than Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Born of the virgin mary, he is the son of God. "The birds have trees to nest in and the foxes their holes but the son of man has no where to rest his head." But he shall have his glory. He will never leave my side as long as I walk with him. He is my shepard and I am one of his. He is my all in all, Glory to the father, glory to the son of God. Blessed is Christ Jesus for without him their is no hope. Only darkness, depression, drunkeness, addiction, fear, hell and the persuasive trickery of Satan and his army. He is all that is good. Only he has the power to set you free, there is no other way to God except through his son. And God is good.

That
A) There isn't enough outside corroboration to say for certain he existed
B) if he existed there's a lot of mythology surrounding him
B) if he existed he was most likely a normal person and not the son of God
C) The DaVinci Code is wrong
D) Tom Hanks was a good choice for that film...I digress
E) I have some problems with his ethics system (no, I don't mean I'm for killing babies or something horrendous, but on fine philosophical points I disagree with the fellow).

And note: tree8588's argument is a rather poor one. Why that God, and not some other God? Thor is displeased with you :)

That is a question that would take an eternity to answer. Jesus, fully God and fully human came to earth to pay the price for my shortcomings. He loves me even when I am totally unlovable. He sacrificed Himself for me, even though I am totally unworthy. What do I think of Jesus? I think that there is no greater love, no greater friend, no greater comforter, no greater king! Jesus, part of the Trinity, God incarnate, loves me - it is mind-blowing.

Isaiah 9
6. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, the everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

I think Jesus is just an icon created by us human to worship to. Just like in Asia, there are Buddha, while in other there's other God. I guess people feel more comfortable to have something to worship to, when they can't find an answer for themselves or dont have anybody to talk to.
