Can you tell me who the picture of these composers are?

Can anyone name one of these composers for me?

His last name... Just might start with an "f".

But I'm not completely sure.


It doesnt look like an extremely old photograph, so I'm guessing he's from the later 1800's and early 1900's.

But, again..

I'm not sure.

The other composer is..

Irving Fine.


I knew that his last name started with an "F"... so I started to look through EVERY composer whose last name began with an "F"... And about halfway through.. BAM! There her was. I was like.. "YEE-UH!"! Took me awhile, but it was well worth the trouble...

I don't know you, but I'm surely mad to be intrigued by this quiz.
My friend, the guy in uniform should be Cesar Cui, because he was an officer of the Czar; all russian composers had a job of their own.
The other one is unknown to me (he isn't at leat 20 of last century beginning composers, that's for sure).
If you give me a slight hint, I'll get it rather easily. Otherwise, adieu.

Nice catch, Italian -- that 2nd one is Cesar Cui

Now I'm trying to figure out the 1st guy.
Could it possibly be Paul Hindemith?

Italian has captured the second guy (good job) and I have looked at every composer picture available on several sites with no luck on the first one. (Sorry Glinzek not Hindemith).

If you know who he is please post it!
