Buy her "super crackers". Really, just regular saltines, but don't tell her that. Here's what you should tell HER: "You will never guess what I bought at the store! I was talking to someone about how bad you were feeling and someone told me that you should try super crackers. They are these really special, amazing crackers that only beautiful princesses eat when they aren't feeling well. You are supposed to eat just 1 super cracker every hour, and it will make you all better. You want to try it?"
If she buys it, set a timer to go off every hour and it will be super cracker time. Tell her she can take as long as she wants to eat it... in tiny little bites if she wants, or 3 big bites to get it over with.
Maybe after a few hours, ask her if she wants some peanut butter on the tip of one or something.
I don't know if it will work for your kid, but it worked for me when I was little!

Sometimes after a virus you can gets sores in you throat and back of your mouth that makes the thought of eating unbearable. Just make sure she is drinking at least 2 ounces an hour and urinating at least twice a day. I would try giving her liquids that have some nutritional value but not milk until 4 days of no throwing up. Juice would be a good start. She will eat again. Keep offering her her favorite foods. I would check with her doctor when they open just to make sure. If she starts getting lethargic and not drinking or urinating well take her to the ER. I am sure that she will be fine though. It takes little ones a little longer to get over viruses. Hope she gets her appetite back soon. Best Wishes.

My daughter is 2 1/2 and about a month ago she had some sort of stomach virus. She has always been a good eater, but she hardly ate for approximately five days. She drank water, but just nibbled on food. I was very concerned as well, as my daugher had never been this sick, but behavior speaks louder then anything. As long as your daughter is happy, not lethargic and is interested in doing things, I wouldn't worry about it. The main concern is that she doesn't get dehydrated and as she's drinking water, it doesn't seem like that will happen. She will start eating when she's ready. I know you'll still worry, as I did, but it's been a month now and my daugher is completely back to normal.

I'd start mixing juice into her water until it's all juice. Then I'd make thin smoothies and slowly bring her back to foods. If this doesn't work, at age three, she's old enough to remember the pain and annoyance of a shot. Let her know that if she doesn't eat, you'll take her to the hospital and they'll give her an IV---aka a HUGE shot that stays in your arm! That should take care of the problem--that worked with my nephew!

Go see a doctor. Try feeding her a little peice of food every couple of hours or so. Tell her she won't throw up that way and it will help her get better faster and feel good. Or give her a drink of smoothie every hour and keep it in the fridge, that way she is eating.

My son had a bad stomache bug earlier this summer and it took him a couple of days to get his appetite back.
The important thing after vomiting is hydration, so it's great she's drinking water. Maybe you could get her to drink some pediacare or a smoothie to get her back into eating.
You should also probably call your pediatrician.

Don't panic. She will start eating again when she gets really hungry. At 3 I think you can explain to her that that's what happens sometimes when people get sick, but she's okay now. Make something she loves, which she probably won't be able to resist, and she'll see that you're right.

I agree with the above answers, but also check inside her mouth (cheeks, tounge, roof of mouth) for white spots. Sometimes when you've had a stomach issue and have had alot of digestive fluid passing back through the mouth it can cause Thrush, which makes it physically painful to eat. Alot of kids won't complain about it but will refuse food.

Try not to make a big deal about it, I'm sure she will have breakfast with you in the morning, Make her favorite and eat it in front of her.
