You need to seek professional help asap, no matter what your mom thinks. You could be suffering major re-occurring depression or even bipolar disorder. I recommend you seek the help from a Clinical Psychologist, preferably one who works with a Psychiatrist in case you need meds. Psychiatrists suck, especially if they follow Fruedian. They also tend to analyze themselves through you. So go with a Clinical Psychologist, they actually work more with the brain and the inner workings. Good Luck to you!!

I have major depressive disorder, I don't know what your situation is, but I can tell you that moping about and continually focusing on your sadness will only make things worse. Try doing something that you enjoy. Take walks, don't mope around the house or expect others to understand, because they won't. I am guessing you are young, the best thing you can do for yourself is focus on your future. Popularity and being accepted by others isn't all it's cracked up to be. Finding your knack and having personal success is. I don't believe in psychiatric drugs, but I do think therapy is a good idea. Take my advice and someday others will be eating your dust, I promise. ;-)

The exact same thing happened to me. I would say that you have depression. If your mum is going to call you an attention seeker, just bypass getting her help and go straight to the doctor. Just tell them you think you have depression, and everything you feel. They'll ask you a few questions and then, if they agree that you're depressed they'll put you on medication. I did it, I had anxiety, and going to the doctor was the best thing I have ever done.

Don't know how old you are, but you really need to speak to someone, great you've posted this question, but it's not enough. If you're at school, you should have a nurse or guidance teacher perhaps, speak to them.
Not always fair, but we all feel a bit sad sometimes, that's why we all need friends... Have you spoken to any of them?
Email me if you want, when you're feeling sad, not saying I will have all the solitions for you, but does help if you want to rant on about something.

I think you need a long chat with someone who is prepared to listen and understand your feelings. A problem shared is a problem halved. Obviously your mum has no experience of bad feelings and can not do this for you. Can you contact "Off the record" in your area to get the help you need? You should be able to find it in the phone book or internet.

It's called Depression, and you need to see a doctor who can give you medicine to take that will usually help it.
It will also get somewhat better as you get older, so hang in there and remember that many bad situations get better in time.
P.S. Don't hate youself.....there is only one of you and you are special and have special talents that you may not even be aware of yet.

Hang in there kiddo, every body has things that they don't like about themselves, but you gotta stay strong and love your self. Find that one thing that really makes you happy, and do it. If your mom doesn't understand what your going threw, say mom we need to sit down and have a talk, and If she still doesn't understand don't give up, sometimes its hard for people to understand your situation, but you half to tell her how you really feel, talking about it will help you and her.

it really sounds like you are depressed. tell your mum that you aren't an attention seeker, that you just want help. i dont know how good of a relationship you have with her, but ask if you can see someone for help. if she doesn't understand than ask your doctor if you have a chance, they can help out. : ) good luck.

Definately depression. Do you have mood swings though or just periods of depression? Do you find yourself acting manically? Like compulsions things you have to do like eat, shop, etc? High energy? Are you anxious along with being withdrawn? Types of depression are manic-depressive and bi-polar disorder....this may help you find out what kind of depression you have.
