Sounds like he is refusing to put all his eggs in one basket.
Hanging in with the current relationship until someone a little better comes his way, and then using her until someone a little better comes his way. You get the idea.
In so much as his comment? Sounds like he is being as vague as possible to placate the current gf, while at the same time, refusing to admit he is in a relationship so he can still flirt with other women.

depends on how well you know the guy, how open are you with him, look at it this way, before the internet, people used to hang out and actually talk to strangers face to face. He might just be getting tips from other women, strangers who he has no real chance in meeting (outside of the internet) when in a relationship you sometimes need the advice from strangers of the opposite sex to give you so insight on what they go through, and then thank their lucky stars that you are not trapped in that drama. he is content because you give him what he wants right now and everything is "cool and the gang" just conversate more with out being overbearing and interrogative, see where that leads you...

Mean he's dipping his wick every where. Guys and women are either cheaters or they don't cheat. If I'm on line looking at personals I'm trying to get laid, plane and simple. If I am dating some one i am crazy about I don't log onto the dating sights, because I am content.
If you are on a dating sight, you are on there to meet and have sex with others. No story whats so ever is going to change that fact.
look at it this way, if you just ate and you are full and satisfied do you go and stand at the refrigerator?

I don't know why he would say something like that if he was content and happy?
But on the other hand, if he's allowed to contact other women with no repercussions, then he'll continue to do it. I've personally talked to many women who's husbands cheat on them, lie to them, abuse them, etc because they don't do nothing about (ie, leave). And why do I hear women not leaving men like this,,,,,,???? because they're hot looking. Now if that's not the dumbest a.s.s. reason I've ever heard of not leaving someone, I don't know what is. I'm not saying you would say something like that, but if men are allowed to do things, and their partner still sticks by their side, in his eyes, what is he doing wrong? Do something about it, and maybe he'll realize what he is doing is wrong.

A truly good relationship is very hard to find. He might have fallen, and landed on an idiot stick. If it truly IS him, he needs to be kicked.
And, no, I would not do that if I were happy.
