pain like this usually is coming from an ear infection. You're going to have to see a medical doctor to get medication to treat this problem. You can place a heating pad on your ear for ten minutes several times a day for temporary relief. But it's imperative you see a medical doctor As quickly as possible.

You might have an ear infection there are 3 types of ear infections, but you might have this one.Otitis media is inflammation of the middle ear: the small space between the ear drum and the inner ear. It is one of the two categories of ear inflammation that can underly what is commonly called an earache, the other being otitis externa. An important fact is that many diseases can cause ear pain other than ear infections, including cancers of any structure that shares nerve supply with the ear, so unexplained ear pain calls for a complete and detailed examination by an otolaryngologist (ear, nose, and throat physician). Otitis media is very common in childhood, with the average toddler having two to three episodes a year, almost always accompanied by a viral upper respiratory infection (URI), also known as the common cold. The rhinoviruses (nose viruses) that cause the common cold infect the eustachian tube that goes from the back of the nose to the middle ear, causing swelling and compromise of pressure equalization, which is the normal function of the tube. In general, the more severe and prolonged the compromise of eustachian tube function, the more severe the consequences are to the middle ear and its delicate structures. If a person is born with poor eustachian tube function, this greatly increases the likelihood of more frequent and severe episodes of otitis media. Progression to chronic otitis media is much more common in this group of people, who often have a family history of middle ear disease.

I am going through this same whing-ding. Mine is simply gently pressure from the far side of the cochlea. It is a very tiny growth, benign, and that little bit of pressure causes mild tinnitus. Diagnostics will help you very strongly to know what you are dealing with. I go with my MRI disk on Monday to have it read by my ENT and then in September by a neurosurgeon. I am told this is not a surgical item. There are, however, various things they can do, once they define it, which will marginalize it to the extent it is no longer a nuisance nor bother to you.

The very sharp pain you are experiencing is beyond my knowledge and experience. I would refer you to your family doctor who will know how to go from there. The MRI they did on my skull is just amazing. I dropped it into my computer and opened it up and could not believe the images I saw. I hope my ENT can explain to me how to manage that disk a little more capably.

I wish you every good fortune on getting diagnosed and treated for what is bothering you. I look forward to when both of us have this matter under control in both our lives. Sent with real care from, Chris in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A. I am 64 and my hearing is a precious item. I think knowing what is going on is probably one of the best things to calming the psyche and bringing peace once again. It is not knowing that does the number on us.

Please see your doctor as soon as possible.

It may be a simple ear infection but the ear controls your balance and if this becomes affected, you could experience dizziness or vertigo.
