I have an anxiety disorder, and you sound an awful lot like me. I can't shop in busy stores or loud stores. I almost left yesterday because a lady was arguing with the checker about the price. I was about to cry.

There are two methods of getting rid of this (I am a patient, not a dr). One is where they gradually expose you to startling things until you get used to it and it doesn't bother you anymore. The other is to medicate you and just calm you down in general.

Right now, I have to use the medication. I'd rather not, but I'm too easily upset to go outside my house without taking meds. As I proceed, getting better I hope, I will discontinue this medication because I am uncomfortable about long-term use.

All of these treatments are available at the psychiatrist's office. If you want to get well, this is the kind of dr. to see.
