Does the message of Tolerance deny the reasonable right of self-preservation? Many feel that the right to self preservation supersedes the principle of tolerance. What do you think?

Our Constitution and our laws outline what our rights are.
Do you see ANYTHING that establishes a "right of self-preservation"?
I hope you don't think being INTOLERANT improves the ability of a society to succeed. Interest in life is improved by variety. Various cultures promote that interest.
When a culture DEMANDS everyone else change to adapt to their ways, THEY are the ones being intolerant.
To be sure, we should NEVER be tolerant of things that degrade life. Fortunately, the WORST of the degrading practices promoted in SOME cultures are already illegal and should REMAIN illegal.
