I have currently received an offer from a job and have other interviews lined up, but I have interviewed several times with the job I really want. Having an offer that has a start date of September 1st, how do I let the other job know that I need a decision so that I don't lose out on another offer? I want to basically pressure them into a decision, tactfully and without seeming overbearing.
I have been told that I am a top candidate and I am "nearing the finish line", but I have exactly two weeks to either accept or decline other offers. Any suggestions?

Tell them just that.

Wow! That is a tough call. On the one hand, I am sure you are looking for a full-time position and not a temporary position and need an answer soon because you don't want to miss either opportunity. On the other hand, you don't want them to think that you are trying to deceive them either by telling them you have another offer. If you did in fact tell them you are very interested in their company and explained the reason why you need an answer, then I believe you made the right choice. But I guess you will find out soon if that was appropriate to do that. Let us know what happened, this could save other people from doing the same thing if it turns out to be a mistake.

You tell them straight out. If they want you they'll make an effort to get you. Plus that gives you a negotiating position when they start to discuss salary. Say something like "When do you think you'll make a final decision about this position, I am really interested in the job, but I've had another strong offer from another company."

You could czll the person who interviewed you, and say just that.

When I interview someone I'm very interested in, but still have more interviews set up, I tell them to let me know if they get other offers and have to make a decision.
