It would be nice. I don't expect it to happen in my lifetime.
I think it's a bit more disturbing how so many folks aren't really reading the question.

As a christian myself, that was not the appropriate thing to declare! God said in his word that he made both good and evil. This is not to say that atheists (can't even spell it) are evil, some of them maybe genuinely good people, just unknowing. See one thing about God is he gives us a choice he would never force us (like satan does) to go along with him. They have the right to ask the hard questions and even the easy questions...you as a christian are supposed to be a light for the world to see. He said through love and kindness will I draw all men unto me. I know you have voiced a frustration and that is what this sounds like, but rather than going public about it (unless you are being a jerk) tell your High Priest about it. He said don't get weary in doing good....one is immmortale that I know of...we all are going to die, we sure as hell can't stay here, so just keep your focus on God and learn of him and the rest will take care of it's self...oh don't forget to help someone else too...

As the world of the Christian is diminishing so is the alternative reality to comfort the fears of mortality waning and the day of conclusion is far beyond my life span or yours .

hey! that's not nice. If you really believed in good and evil you would know it's not right to ask this question.
Let me tell YOU Something. I am an athiest because religion has sparked wars that have killed so many. If there truely were gods they would not let this happen, which is why I do not believe.
Please, be considerite of others from now on. Plus, your question does not make sense. Athiests do not make things up such as realities. each person has thier own little alternate reality to his and her own liking. THank you sir.

mate, its more scary being christian. Scared of the fact half the people you know and love are going to hell because of Satan. Isn't it easier and more calming to believe that there is no consequense? Saying religion is a way of escape is just a juvenille defense and a hypocritical arguement.

(heh i wonder how many votes down i get will be from Atheists who have no concept of sarcasm)
Yeah it will happen man. One day there will be no atheists, just people who follow the truth about the world.
All we have to do to effect this is burn ALL books other than our holy religious text, then outlaw curiousity, outlaw questioning the status quo and burn those who don't to the death. We should also have IQ tests at 5 years of age and anyone who tests dangerously high should be put to death, as high-IQ and atheism are highly corollary (i don't know what that dirty atheist word means either!).
In fact, the easy thing is, all we have to really do is resume the same laws we followed in that wonderful holy time many ignorant people know as the 'dark ages' where christian charity extended to all four corners of the world (and back then, we knew it was 4 corners, non of this atheist gabble about 'spheres'.
Have patience fellow christian soldier- one day everyone will think exactly like us, and it will be paradise, Just like it was last time!
Edit.
Heh heh, methinks you need to learn how to present an unambiguous question!
:)

Athiests don't imagine alternate realities to escape fears of mortality. That's what believers in God and religion do. Athiests don't believe there's anything after death. When you die, you die. The end.

Not really. I like them about. Certainly less overweening than those "compassionate" Christian who like to remind me that, since I am a Catholic, I get to burn in the fiery pits of hell for all eternity

I'm not saying it's true in all cases and I'm not displaying my beliefs (as they are personal to me) but I've never personally and in the flesh met a happy atheist.
