It seems like you don't really know much about stretching your earlobes. First of all, unless you want to get your ear repierced with a larger needle, or have them use a scalpel to make your ear piercing larger, you can only go up so far without causing serious issues. If yours are at the normal size of most earrings (20 or 18 gauge), no respectable piercer would stretch any farther up than POSSIBLY a 10g, much more likely a 14.
Stretching (which by the way, is the appropriate term, gauges are units of measurement) is a gradual process. You have to be patient and listen to your body. Stretching should never hurt. It won't be comfortable, but it shouldn't be extremely painful. If it is, odds are your ripping apart the fistula (the tissue formed in the piercing) of your ear.
You REALLY need to do some research before you go to get your ears stretched. www.bmezine.com is a great place to start.

well the best way to gauge is like this.. you start small and go big
your ears normal are a 20.. so try a 16 or 14 to start, the go down a size each time so 12,10,8,6,4,2.. till whatever size you want.. if you gauge in to big of a gap you can tear your ear.. also what do you mean going to get it done?? oyu know you can do it your self
also you did put this in right catagory.. there really is none for piercings most put them in here ot skin and body
here a chart
http://jewelry.about.com/cs/identifyjewelry/l/blgaugechart.htm
hope that helps
and to those above it is called gauging as well as streching and they do go back to normal.. my friend had hers to a 2g had them in for about 2 years took them out and in about 1 year they went back to a 20... the bigger you go the longer it takes to close thats all my other friend had 1/2g in his.. took them out and just put smaller ones in to make it look better with in 6 month he was in a 4

dont get them punched! its gona hurt like hell! and they can never shrink back to normal size.
do what i did. buy bigger and bigger plugs and stretch them slowly.
its taken me about 6 months and i am now at 10mm (00 gauge)
if you need a gauge chart, heres one:
Gauge Millimeters Inches
18g 1.0 mm 5/127"
16g 1.2 mm 3/64"
14g 1.6 mm 1/16"
12g 2 mm 5/64"
10g 2.4 mm 3/32"
8g 3.2 mm 1/8"
6g 4 mm 5/32"
4g 5 mm 3/16"
2g 6 mm 1/4"
0g 8 mm 5/16"
00g 10 mm 3/8"
000g 11 mm 7/16"
12 mm
12.7 mm 1/2"
14 mm 9/16"
16 mm 5/8"
19 mm 3/4"
22 mm 7/8"
25 mm 1"
i have alot of expericence with ear stretching. i have pierced and stretched my own and several friend's ears. if you need help, feel free to ask me. =]

You have to move up slowly, one gauge at a time-- otherwise it could cause a blowout and you'd need corrective surgery for that.
Besides going slow, it's pretty easy to do. You don't have to go anywhere to get it done, most people do it themselves and it's perfectly safe to do so. Here's a good page that explains it well: http://jewelry.about.com/od/bodyjewelry/a/gauging_lobes.htm
And here are a few sites with the tapers you should use: http://www.bodyartforms.com/productdetails.asp?ProductID=946

You're not gauging your ears, you're stretching them, for one.

5 minute google search, you really need to do your own homework on this. You seem really unknowledgeable about this & should educate yourself some more before going & modifying your body.

uh by gauged does that mean like having plugs?
no offence or anything and i dont mean to be mean but those things are ugly, and ever uglier on girls. i would recommend not getting that but if you want to, feel free to do so.

Don't do it. it isn't a good idea. They don't grow back in easily and when your 30 your going to have saggy breasts AND ear lobes. Don't do it.
