I remember I got in a little trouble with the cops and I spit on the ground. Next thing I know the cop is like "Hey son do you know I could give you a ticket for that!" I didn't believe him, but for all I know he could of. Is that true?

Doesn't that seem odd to anyone?? That you can get legally in trouble for spitting on the ground!

There are some old and really dated laws out there.

Here's one:

It is a crime punishable by death to put salt on a railroad track.

That law came about in the late 1800s and it's still on the books.

I rest my case.

He probably could give you a ticket for it. I can think of 3 or 4 common laws that spitting can get you in trouble with.

Many laws are outdated -- and many are still valid, but broad enough that they can include things like spitting on sidewalks.

We have way way way way way too many laws.
