They could play marco polo. They also could have belly flop contests or cannonball contests. You also can play a game where you have a caller and when one person gets on the diving board and is about to jump in the caller yells cannonball, jackknife, pencildive and bellysplash. The caller can be the judge of how well the person does each thing. I would suggest buying beach balls or footballs. You also can buy squishy balls that I think are called splash balls at places like Target that are a lot of fun to play with I think they cost around two or three dollars of a couple of them. Torpedos are a lot of fun. They look like a rocketship and throw them under water and they glide they are a lot of fun. I think they are about ten dollars each. Diving rings or sticks are fun too. Taking them back to your house for cake sounds like a good idea. I'm sure they will have lots of fun.

I live in Canada too and there was a wave pool where we lived. Thinking of that pool - The Newton Wave Pool, I know how crowded that place would get ESPECIALLY on a Saturday. I personally wouldn't leave my child unsupervised and as a parent hosting the party I'd make damn sure there was an adult for every 2 kids or so. I know the signs say that kids under 7 must be within arms reach - I still think that's too young.

I've been to some super fun kid pool parties. i don't think you need to orginize too many( if any games @ all ) they will just be having fun. beach ball and/or anything else would help. I would think the kids will be sleepy and hungry and if they are going back to you house(getting them all together to leave) some of the kids might be cranky. Just keep that in mind. but good party favors are beach towels. You can buy them on line for cheap, escpically if you buy a lot.
i know Kraft mag had lots of fun pool party food idea. check out the link. Have fun

You can start it by getting lots and lots of balloons!! kids love the colors and love to throw them. getting some $1 beach balls would be very cool! They would also be great gift bag items. Have them eat cake and ice cream in the lobby or in a dining area if possible. Or etleased stay in the hotel....bringing them to your house might make them want to jump around and be tottaly crazy! lol! Maybe make it a hawaiian theme. blow up palm trees, intertubes to sit in and float are great to. Maybe get the cake to look like a beach or something. A game i played when i was little was this:
have everyone stand around the pool, have them toss a ball around the circle to each kid (beach ball for your case) and if the kid misses the ball, they have to jump in the pool! Make sure you play the game has soon as they get there, and befoere they get into the pool so its funner having to jump in the pool if you miss the ball. The winner (last one standing) gets some type of prize such as a hersheys bar or hawaiin flower for a girl, or a laui however you spell it, the thing of flowers u put around your neck.

A pool party is a wonderful way to have a birthday! (Unless it rains, gloomy day ect.) Beach ball and other stuff would be a good idea, but after a while they might get boring. And what's a party without snack and stuff? Cake, pizza, and ice-cream after would be good.

my kids have pool parties every year. we swim for an hour then have cake pool side. one of the games that my kids enjoy is diving for prizes. i get 1 roll of pennies, 1 of dimes, 1 of nickels and 1 of quarters. throw them into the shallow end and let the kids dive for them what they get they keep. another is seeing who can make the biggest splash or just free play the kids come up with all kinds of things to do. everything don't have to be planned out. let them just have fun swimming.

One thing I would suggest is if there isn't going to be a lifeguard on duty, you require that the parents stay for the party. A lot of 7-8 year olds still can't swim well, and you wouldn't want to be responsible for that.

well actually instead of having to take them back home keep them there serve them cake by the pool. Some activities you should include is biggest spalsh competition and some races you should get beach balls and aquatic toys.
hope it works out well,
Jesta!!!!
