Absolutely!
You take protein shakes for the protein... the milk just helps the taste (compared to water). The listings of nutritional facts on protein powders only reflect the powder itself, not the milk, primarily because the type of milk used will change some of the details whether it be Skim, 1%, 2%, whole, Soy, Goat, etc, etc.

Essentially, the only difference is just the milk itself... the powder stays the same.
Of course, there are some people that prefer the taste of one type of milk, and there are some people that want to stick only with Soy instead of milk (in which case, they can use Soy protein and Soy milk)... but that's personal preference.

Remember soy is a plant protein and milk is a animal protein. They have a different amino acid make up. I have used both and don't look at one as being more or less effective than the other. The protein powder you select can be whey for quick digestibility or use by the body like after a work out or casein for time released digestibility like at bed time. So use either one just for variety. Skim milk is about 1.5% fat and 16-30% protein. Soy is about 4% fat 12% plant protein. Full cream milk is full of fat 26% fat 25 -30% protein. The soul pupose of shakes is to not add unessasary fat with the shake. Don't train wreck your progress.

Depends on the calories you will burn during exercise/aerobics.
All have fat, full cream would be rich. Skim would be healthier for you.
Soy is rich too but easier to digest and better for the body and those are allergic/intolerance to dairy(bloating of the stomach, diarrhea and lacking digestive enzymes),it is more preferable with Asians and vegetarians.
You got to like the taste of some protein shakes eg vanilla or chocolate when mixed. Keep active if are healthy and those that need replenishments from an illness or after surgery, shakes are good for the body until solid foods are resumed.

taking powdered protein supplements with milk is not optimum, water is the preferred liquid. it pretty much defeats the purpose of taking them if you are adding the protein back into the milk. milk proteins are extracted from the milk to make the absorption and utilization of them optimal and with out the added calories and insulin response from the milk sugars and fats.

If you're male, stop right there. Soy protien and soy in general increases estrogen, shuts down testosterone, and isn't high enough quality protien to build or maintain muscle. Even for women, the protien's junk. If you wanna shut down performance and make your gains vanish, use soy protien.
