when someone needs a hug , a kind word , their spirits lifted ... just to be nice ?
or are some of you selective about who you are kind to ?
Moonlit needed a little pick me up and recieved a few not so nice answers that were derogitry towards her religion ... some even trying to convert her
is this what your religion teaches ?
when people of different beliefs are in need ... convert them or speak bad to them ?
where is the love for your fellow men/women ?
can we forget the religion and just see someone in need of some love ?

No honey it is not too much to ask.
When I have been here and needed hugs and help, I have received it from atheist and theist. It meant a lot to me.

People often blame lack of tolerance on diversity, but it is not diversity that is to blame.
After all, it has been proven time and time again that some of the most different religions share really key factors. It is more than just possible that every religious group on the planet can get along and become harmonious, simply by focusing on what brings us all together.
I probably should have done it first, but I will be linking through to offer my support to Moonlit.
Sadly, this lack of tolerance is present in us all, even in us who choose not to become victim to it. To state that it is not there would be foolish, but just to rise above it and be nice is ever so easy to do.
Why is it that there are only a few who do?

((((Everyone))))

I found most of the answers to be respectful. One or two were downright rude, but for this place, that seems to be a record of some sort. Is there a question here that has had absolutely zero rude answers? This is a scary place. Anyone posting a question here better have a skin of the elephant.

What a person believes doesn't matter to me when it comes down to someone needing help. If I chose only those that believed like me, in my area in the "real" world instead of cyberland... I wouldn't help anyone as there aren't too many Pagans in Northern Ky. I never use my personal religion to try to sway a person when they are down... I feel this is wrong to do... it's manipulative to try to use a persons emotions against them to sway them towards my way of thinking. Deceitful ways such as that will come back on the deceitful person.
I see a lot of people in mainstream religions just like I see used car salesmen... They will use ANYTHING to get their foot in the door just to sell you that old clunker they have in the back lot (ie: their version of the Truth).

I read Moonlit's question and you are totally right,it is not too much to ask. I don't know why some people choose to kick someone when they are already down. I hope she finds that happiness she is searching for.

If someone needs a hug or a kind word then it should be given freely and with love.
And with no recourse to race, religion, class or colour.

You know a lot of these people would never say things like that to someone in person... they hide behind those keyboards thinking how high and mighty they are when they are in fact cowards for acting like they did and treating that woman with disrespect.

(((Pangel))) in an ideal world we would all be here supporting each other..sadly, that is not the case..there's always a few 'rotten' apples as they say. But fortunately there are more good people here that make up for it.
We should learn from you, doll, and stick up for each other.

The irony of someone who Christians believe will burn in hell asking them to live by the tenets of their religion is mind numbing.
You seriously rock, Pangel.
