The sage colors are remarkable punches to a room but you have to choose wisely. They are neutrals with a punch. We painted our last house in three colors of sage and it was remarkable and hugely important in the sale of the house. Everyone loved the look. Our floors were natural stained red oak as were our cabinets throughout. Our kitchen appliances were black, our countertops a black/grey. Hope this helps in your choice.

Try the yellow color family. Yellow also reflects the sunlight so it brightens a room. Go down to your local home hardware and paint store for some samples to take home and try what you think would be a good alternative to beige or off white.
