I thought peroxide was peroxide, and not different strenghts. What is the difference?

A lot. The food grade variety is used to whiten teeth.
The 3% variety is used to clean cuts and wounds.

95% hydrogen peroxide is rocket fuel. The 3% has additives that make it only for external use (read the bottle). Food grade is more concentrated and does not have the additives.

Consuming it provides more oxygen to the body. But eating fruit also does this. See site below about fruit being the best food and why.
