That is a matter of the sovereignty of God.
This is a concept almost unheard of in Western culture, but the simple fact of reality is that God can do whatever He wishes, whenever He wishes, in whatever way He chooses, and is answerable to none. There is no one God has to give an account of Himself to.
That is the simple fact of reality.
I for one am doubly grateful that He has revealed Himself in history as being genuinely benevolent as proven through His self sacrifice, when in the person of Jesus Christ He died for the sins of the world.
"Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God,WHICH HE BOUGHT WITH HIS OWN BLOOD."
Acts 20:28

Honestly, I think everyone believes at some point that G-d is being harder on her than on others.
I went through a long time believing that G-d was hearing my prayers and granting the very things I was asking for constantly to everyone around me, so that I could see, and be punished.
I think it was just a test of Job's faith.
When I was going through the worst of believing that G-d was punishing me for something I didn't even know I had done, someone suggested Job's story to me.
I read it, and became even more angry.
It didn't seem fair.
However, the L-rd was faithful to Job. He knew that Job would remain faithful during those trials.
He was rewarded.
Don't give up.
I say that, but many many times I've cried out in prayer "WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?"
But I know G-d is good to me. His work in me has been slow and deliberate.
I'm not sure why some of my prayers are still unanswered, but I am certain that G-d has my best interest in mind.

That's a great question.
Everyone is born into different circumstances with varied experiences in life. This may cause us to wonder why a God would seem so arbitrary.
Our Heavenly Father loves each of us and provided an earth experience suitable for our continued growth and development. We're all different and can benefit from different experiences. Based on the scriptures, at least some of us, such as the prophet Jeremiah, accepted assignments to help others in certain ways before we were born.
There are some videos at the following web site that discuss the purpose of life in more detail.

If you look at it from his perspective you will see that people make it hard on themselves. When God is trying to help the most, we get so caught up in doing it ourselves that we forget that Jesus is there. Then we can't figure out why the Holy Spirit isn't helping when all the time the trinity was trying but we kept getting in the way. "I say, I will forget my complaint, I will change my expression and smile.Job 9:27
That is my answer for the second question..."Why is God harder on some people than others?"

Why God Permits Evil
From where, then, does evil come? Remember that God has opposers—principally the "one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth." (Revelation 12:9) God placed our first parents, Adam and Eve, in a trouble-free world. But Satan convinced Eve that she would be better off without God's rulership. (Genesis 3:1-5) Sadly, Eve believed Satan's lies and disobeyed God. Adam joined her in this rebellion. The result? "Death spread to all men," says the Bible.—Romans 5:12.
Rather than immediately squashing this rebellion by destroying Satan and his followers, God saw fit to allow time to pass. What would that accomplish? For one thing, it would allow Satan to be exposed as a liar! It would allow proof to accumulate that independence from God brings nothing but ruin. Is that not exactly what has taken place? "The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one." (1 John 5:19) Furthermore, "man has dominated man to his injury." (Ecclesiastes 8:9) Mankind's religions are a maze of conflicting teachings. Morals have fallen to an all-time low. Human governments have tried every conceivable form of rule. They sign treaties and adopt laws, but the needs of the common people are still unfulfilled. Wars add misery on misery.

God treats every one of us in a special way , but all those ways are for the good of that one , if he is hard on someone
maybe bcz that one needs to wake up and figure out the wrong things he is saying , when things get hard , we start to pray more , maybe God wants us to learn how to pray , when things are hard we may come closer to God , in this way he shows us himself , that we need him and know him through good and hard times as well
its the way that's only going to work with some people
maybe someone says "every thing is ok , so i dont need God " so God be hard on him in order to remind that man that God made things ok for him , so that the man realizes the truth and still having faith
God deals with each one of us in a different way , bcz its the suitable way to keep believing , so its for own good

Because the earth was handed over to satan by mankind at the fall..
Why did God allow satan so much freedom to harm His faithful follower?
Because He cannot take back the rights we as the human race gave to Satan. We have to take back all our rights and dominion over the earth, ourselves.
He seems harder on others because bad things of various kinds will happen to everyone on this kind of earth... the "righteous" and the "unrighteous" alike. "The rain falls upon both the just and the unjust."
Therefore, a person who chooses to be righteous must choose to be righteous because he or she loves God. Not because they seek a reward (although rewards will surely be given).
God found a way for good to come out of what happened to Job, just as He finds ways for good to come out of the bad things that happen to us.

The more obedient to God you are the worse Satan attacks. Job left a door open. Satan stepped in. There was part of Job's life that was unsurrendered and thus unprotected. Satan took that as an opportunity to try and destroy Job's witness.
Job:3:25: For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
