I'm flying Westjet from Ontario to Nova Scotia. Do I leave my disposable Bic lighter in my purse if that's the only carry on piece I'm taking? All my liquid & gel toiletries are going in my checked bag so no need for the plastic ziploc bag in my purse. Answers from people that have recently flown Westjet within Canada please, as all airlines & countries have different rules. Thanks.

It's a little more complex than that. However, Westjet does allow disposable lighters. It will not allow refillable lighters, or separate lighter fluid, but a disposable lighter as you are suggesting is allowed.

Canada does not confiscate lighters for in-country flights.
