Ok, I've asked something similar to this ages ago. Help me out Christians...
Why should I believe it God? I can't see hear smell or touch him, and his Bible was written by men, and then translated and retranslated by men, and you've only got their say so that it was the Holy Spirit. I want a reason, so here's your chance to evangelise. Please note:
Saying things like 'you can't see gravity but you believe it' is just stupid. I can measure and prove gravity.
Saying the signs are all around me is stupid. No they are not - you only think that if you already believe.
Why is there no proof of the omnipotent God? If he want's me to believe, why don't I? Why doesn't he help me out a little?
Apart from general insecurity, can a believer give me a concrete reason why I should believe in God apart from Scripture based rhetoric and empty quotes and parables?
Note this is not an anti-christian question. I just don't get it, I'm agnostic and I'd like to understand.

To the person asking What other "proof" do you need? Well, any really, because your answer was pointless!
To the person saying look outside, what could make such beauty - err, random evolution. Go look at fractals.
To the person saying we can't prove gravity, err, yes you can. Mathematically it's totally predictable and proveable. Try again.

Ok everyone, forget it. Too many people saying 'it's in the Bible'. It's a circular reference!!!!!! It's only proof if you already believe!
Sorry folks, I really would truly like to believe in something higher, but if that's as convincing as God's messengers can be then he's really let the recruiting slide.
I'll happily take this debate further by email if you like, but I think I'm going to have to quit trying to get any sort of help from Yahoo Answers, because the incredulity of some of these responses is absolutely shocking.

I think that you already have a clear understanding, you're just giving them a chance to speak up now. That's very nice of you.

God gave proof of himself. Jesus Christ was God, he was the proof because only the Son of God could raise himself from the dead. So your real question should be 'is Jesus truly the Son of God?' Now the remember, the gospels were simply stories written by those who best- knew Jesus so either they were biased towards him and helped to build a lie, or they knew him well and gave accurate accounts. Now Jewish scribes had been known for thier accurate writings. They were said to have counted all the letters in the copied book and if the middle letter was not the same the book would be destroyed. Many people say that the Bible could have been changed. Too pull of such a feat so much as to change every Bible would be rediculouse. Now, keep in mind, this is the Bible speaking. Is there any account of Jesus outside of the Bible? Here are some things that we know about the Son of God. Jesus first of all was a real man. He was also known as a great man, full or knowledge and wisdom and a powerful speaker. We know that he was tried before Ceasar and though thought to be innocent was crucified. 3 days after he was crucified his body disappeared. There are historical fact, not just things found in the Bible. An important thing to realize is the sudden increase in Christians after the resurrection. It has been recorded that there were 500 people that witnessed the living Christ after being resurrected. The amount of Christians sky-rocketed, and even though they were persecuted and killed for their faith, Christianity continued to prosper. There is much more information at:

Christianity is a faith. It means you believe something not because there is tons of proof, but because you simply believe.
It's like if someone told you they had candy in their pocket, and they'll give you some if you do 10 jumping jacks. You don't know for a fact that they have candy. There is no way to really prove it. But just because you can't prove that they have candy, doesn't mean necessarily mean they don't have any. And if you believe strongly enough that they have candy, you might do the 10 jumping jacks and get the candy, or find out that they never had any candy to begin with. Or maybe you thought all along that they were just bullshitting you because they you didn't think they had any candy, and you didn't bother doing any jumping jacks. You might end up being the smart one because they actually didn't have any candy, and you didn't bother doing jumping jacks for nothing. Or, it might turn out that they did actually have candy, and you missed out.
It's just how it works. You can't force yourself to believe anything. If you're too skeptical to believe in a God, then Christianity probably isn't your thing. That's okay, just be yourself and believe what you want.
Have a great day!

There is scripture in The Bible that was originally written in ancient Hebrew that are advanced scientific instructions written by somebody in layman's terms for the health benefits of the human body that no human on earth knew at the time these instructions were written. Not knowing this The Bible scholar's gave these instructions the non scientific religious interpretation that still exists today. The scary part about all this is that the scientific mind, (God), who wrote this had to know that some time in the future, (now), mankind would realize their mistake in the religious interpretation of these instructions and be forced to change them back into the scientific instructions God originally wrote them in. This will make the physical connection to someones mind that is not human. This will lead to proving God exists and wrote a science book we call The Bible. And by the way no other religion's religious books contain any advanced scientific knowledge to prove their god exists.

howdy,
I am glad you are an agnostic, not an athiest,
because this means you are indeed searching for the God the creator, and not denying His existece.
Genesis 1:1 is proof of Gods existence
"in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
there are two wittneses to GOD, the physical and the spiritual, the physical is the creation of God,
our world did not just happen, we didnt come from amphibians or apes or whatever evolutionuts beleive.
God created us adn breathed life into us.
asking this question is a good thing, it shows that the Holy Spirit is working in you and making you seek out God,
you need to accept that,
I would suggest, going to church tomorrow,
and at some point next week, buy a Bible,
probably a new american standard, that is the version, tested and retested against the greek adn hebrew and is a perfect match.
read the whole thing and marvel at Gods wonderful works.
if you want to ask any other questions

you are sounding EXACTLY like my brother.
hes an agnostic too.
ive had many many many conversations with him and i have realized that there is no physical proof of god and i guess certain people are just too logical thinkers to place faith in something so farfetched. but here are some of the points i make to my brother:
the ancient tablets that are being found in the ground of egypt or wherever are the actual documents from that were written in those times. and the reason you should believe those tablets is the same reason that in 5,000 years, people are gonna find documents from now that are true, but they might not believe them because they are so old.
i could probably think of many other reasons but i just dont feel like it right now. if you REALLY want to ask me OR my agnostic brother any questions, you can contact me on myspace. [its on my yahoo answers profile]

The beautiful thing about faith is that it's not proven to be true, but it's known that it is. It's sort of like gravity. We can't "prove it" by definition of the word, but we know for a fact that it's there. Faith is good because it is faith that makes God what he is. So many people know he is there, that he simply must be. It's also comparable to the whole "I think, therefore I am" thing. The only thing that we can prove exists is ourselves, because we think. We know that everything else exists, with no definite knowledge or proof behind it. We just know. It's harder to be more exact than this, it's hard to phrase and state. Joining the Christian faith is not an obligation to dedicate your life to him. It's merely a comforting friend on which you can fall back when things look bleak. It's really comforting to myself along with many others to know that there is a great being out there who loves me.
Jesus, that sounded corny, but I got my point across.

I think you are being a bully your picking on the mentally ill because you know you can make clever comments to make them seem stupid. I can prove God yet not in the way you think God is simply life and the energy that gives life being as I exist it proves God exists. God created all living things because energy created all living things therefore it is only your own misguided view that God is a supernatural living entity that makes his existence seem silly. Lol at least that will have you thinking

It sounds like nobody's exactly twisting your arm to make you believe in God, so why not just drop the whole daft argument and be an atheist like so many of the rest of us?
I could go into a whole thing about how God doesn't need to prove himself and faith isn't about evidence etc., but why bother? And why ask Christians questions which they can't answer? Give up the struggle and join the rest of us Darwin-reading sex-having pork-and-shellfish-eating unbelievers.

I want to believe so bad in GOD but I can't (and I have tried) Cause I haven't had any proof or any signs.
