It happens like this: A long time ago, people couldn't explain things. When volcanoes erupted, they figured a great being did it, since humans themselves can't make volcanoes erupt (This is assuming that they believed themselves to be the greatest beings on the planet, which is true 99% of the time). Now that we understand volcanoes better, we know that it's not a great being that did it, but the laws of physics. This gets rid of the need for a Volcano God.

It'll progress like that until, eventually, they either deny the science or just say, "He's still there." Still, only the future knows

This is why i try not to argue with religious people like many atheist do. The only way to realise the truth that religion is bullsh*t is to come to that conclusion on your own and that is exactly what is happening. It may take five hundred years it may take a 1000, but religion is going to disappear. 50 years ago the % of belief in Chistianity was high around the world, now most of europe no longer believes less than 3% go to church in UK. and less than 18% of scandinavian countries believe. Only the USA is left with more % ppl believing than not. In the UK if a politician ever mentions his faith he would be labeled a dangerous fanatic but in the USA if the politicians dont say "I pray to Jesus" at least once a day they dont get elected.

RELIGIOUS FANATICISM MUST END!!

p.s. Religion has NOTHING to do with faith in a god. If you believe in a god you dont need religion to believe in him.

Yes. Science is hard to argue with, and even the deep guilt that religions instill in small children can't compete with the hard evidence. I worked in the astrophysics field for awhile, and hardly any of my coworkers were religious, because it would have required a complete denial of their professional work. In the very near future medical science will provide us with a definitive explanation of death, and most religions will become obsolete.

I dont think so but it is in our the best interest of humanity that it does. Common sense isn't really that common, it requires some thought and brave questions. That is where we lose alot of us to religion
