ALL honorably discharged veterans (US) are entitled to veterans benefits. There are many different types of benefits to which they may or may not qualify for, but they do have to apply for them in order to get them. Further information may be obtained by contacting the Veterans Administration.

They are entitled any personal disability that can be service connected. The veteran's family maybe entitled to aid and attendance and or sitters fee's if the Veteran is unable to take care of him/ her self. The WW2 veterans have priority in claims adjudication since they die at over 1,500 per day.
Currently the backlog is at 600,000 but they get to move to the front line even over OIF/OEF vets. He can also recieve medication and is eligable for VA pension. The best Advice I can give to you is contact your county or state veterans service officer. This is what they get paid to do, if you have any problem with that I can assist you in this matter.

What kind of benefits? Once you are out, generally you don't receive anything. Unless you have a medical discharge.
