Consider this. Would you want to live like the people of those countries do?

Absolutely.

All the people who think America is or should be a "Christian Nation" ought to reflect that this country was settled by one group of Christians fleeing persecution at the hands of another. Even if we DID decide to make Christianity the official State religion, the next question would be, which brand of Christianity? After all, much of the violence in the Middle East is over which brand of Islam is the "correct" one.

In America, the Catholic's right to worship Jesus as he sees fit is guaranteed by the Baptist's right to worship Jesus in his way, and by the Muslim's right to worship Allah, and the Hindu's right to worship Ganesh, and my right to worship none of the above.

The seperation of church and state, as ruled by the Supreme Court (thank the Gods...), is about the only thing that's keeping this country from blowing itself up...

I'm so tired of hearing Pat Robertson whine "It's not in the Constitution... It's not in the Constitution..." Well. It should be. So everyone write your congressman...

Furthermore, the Government and the Church are two very different "superpowers" in our world today. Combine the two, and you have the recipe for absolute power, corruption, and destruction.

Besides, when this country was ruled by the Church, people got burned at the stake.

That's diplomacy for ya...

If the Democrats gain control it will be like this as they will surrender. And Obama is a Muslim who just gave Osama a boast with saying g he would attack Pakistan and saying he would not use the nuke.
Pakistan is the only Muslim country with the nuke.
SO WAKE UP And do not worry about it as you seem to as if the left wins it will not matter. And woman will be the property of men and why do the NAGs not say a word about the way they are treated under Islam.

Rephrase this question in light of the fact that the Taliban is a CIA asset and that Saddam Hussein was put in power by the USA. What now?

There is also the cultural aspect. Many practices that the West thinks are Islamic are actually cultural and eons older than Islam.

I think I understand what you are trying to say. Are saying that places like Afghanistan, Iraq, and I will throw in Pakistan where the government controls the religion (Islam) is bad? I say yes. There is not much choice in their religion. I would not want to live in those areas.

Iraq was a more secular country than the US. It was easily the most secular nation in the Middle East. Religion played no part in the governement.

Maybe you should do a little of your own research before you repeat what you hear others say, dear.

Pst ...

Grace unto YOU, and peace,
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

In "churches" latter "state" of man is fallen from grace:
what the Spirit saith "unto the churches" in Galatians.
He that hath an ear let him hear what the Spirit saith.

The "ministers" of SATAN in 2Corinthians 11:15 are
both churchy ministers & political ministers of LAW.
Playing "their part" has "their end": a Dead End;
Cause their law is the ministration of death: 2Cor 3.

So no, there should be no separation nor alienation,
except to "come out from them, and be ye separate",
cause in "them" there's no eternal life, but life + death;
and the death part comes sudden to them: 1Thess 5:3.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with YOU all. Amen.

Yes, definitely. If you think that a Christian Taliban would be any better than a Muslim Taliban, you just have to look at history to see that it's just as bad.

It could be argued that religion hasn't started many wars. Most are waged over territory and money. However, religion tends to make most conflicts much worse.

Rosbee God is the Judge and there is no separation, Separation of Church and state is because people have twisted religion and handled it incorrectly. Like Satan many have had greed and lust for power destroy themselves and many others.Ultimately the Bible teaches Jesus Christ will have to reign over the earth to bring peace for 1000 years then he will be taken out of the way and Satan will be let loose to full fill Gods purpose. It is all in the Bible just hard to read.
