Everyday, I tell myself that I,m such an idiot, and I know I,m wrong, but I just can't stop beating myself up. I know I,m better than a lot of people, but even if I make a small mistake that anyone could forgive and forget, I think I,m a dummy.
Help?
I,m not shooting to be perfect, I guess I,m just very sensitive.

Ignore the idiot that posted about the spell check. Hopefully their haugty, nasty self will break a mirror next time they look at it.

Self esteem is hard to build in the society we live in today. The same above post proves that.

You can beat it though.

If the negative thought pops in your head, replace it instantly. Replace it with a thought about what you have accomplished. Yes the negative will pop right back, replace it again.

Do not compare yourself to others. You have qualities and abilities no one else has. They have faults you do not have.

If you find yourself feeling like this more often after reading magazines or shows and movies, that the 'star' or models seem perfect, cut them out of your life until your self esteem is built up.

Also, you may be suffereing from the beginnings of depression, you can go to your physican and get a referral for a psycologist, maybe a low dose of anti depressants will help.

Eat properly as much as possible, and drink water, 8-10 eight ounce glasses a day. Doing that can rid the body of some chemicals that can effect our emotions.

Get 6-8 hours of sleep a night. Do not let anything, except and emergancy keep you from that much sleep. A sleep deprived mind will not think properly.

Help others out. Giving of your time and energies to help friends, neighbors and family members, goes a long way in building self esteem.

First your mind is on helping them, and not what you have failed in, plus the happiness of giving can leave you with a more contented look out.

I hope this helps and you can feel better abolut yourself soon.

Oh and spell check isn'tt working, so please forgive the typo's.

that is understandable...in this day and age so many people make big deals about being good enough for society....news, media, magazines, teachers, and even friends do this...you need to turn your train of thought around. Instead think about something physically that you really like about yourself...for instance maybe you have really pretty lips.....as you walk down the streete repeat to yourself..." I have beautiful lips...they are soft and luminous" something like that to get your self esteem up! good luck

Keep saying to yourself that I am smart, I am smart, I am smart again and again from the moment you wake up.

It sounds crazy but it actually works. A lot of athletes do this before they compete in an event.

I would try the "I am beautiful, I am smart, I am great" chant. You're supposed to do it in the morning and whenever you feel like crap. It feels kind of silly, but it help a little.
