I'm not a Christian but I'll have a go;-)
Don't say you believe in God and then not keep the commandments because to do so means that you do not in fact know him at all. Making out like you do know him, makes you a liar.
Right?

Because some so-called Christians say they are Christians but do not live according to the 10 Commandments or the golden rule or exhibit fruits of the Holy Spirit such as faith, goodness, gentleness, joy, kindness, love, peace, patience and self-control or chastity.

You really need to read verses before and after. Although this seems fairly clear to me. If you claim to be a Christian and yet do not do what the Word commands then you are a liar and lost.

He that says, "I have excepted Jesus has my Savior and Lord of my life but does not act like a Christian is a liar and he is not able to actually say that he is a Christian.
