Watch him over the weekend. If you are still concerned about him, no eating, no drinking, etc., take him to the vet.
If he just licked it, he may be okay. Cats will foam at the mouth if they taste something bitter or something they don't like.
If he is acting normally and doesn't show any signs of problems. He'll probably be ok.

We live in Eastern PA and toads have this chemical that they secreet that make them taste nasty to other animals so that they don't eat them. Also take precaution, toads when picked up or played with (as we found thru our own expirences!) will pee, so there is a possibility your cat licked urine. He may have an upset stomach from licking urine if there was any. Keep a close eye on him and like said before if he is not better by Monday call the vet.

Some types of toads like the bufo toad which is common in USA and Canada can be toxic, killing small animals. One of the symptoms is frothing at the mouth. Cats will do this when they taste something that disagrees with their palate, or when they have ingested something toxic. Monitor your cat if her condition worsens contact a veterinarian. Do you know how to take her pulse? Do you know what your cats regular temperature is? If not, ask your vet to show you as monitoring pulse and body temperature are excellent ways of gauging the health of your cat.
Take your cats pulse and temperature two or three times when you know it is healthy- this will provide a base for you to estimate her situation when she is not feeling so well.
Good luck.

Don't worry. Your cat will be ok. Just some foaming at the mouth. Mine got hold of the household toad and foamed so much it was like she was choking. but with some wiping away of the foam she is fine. All the babies too

Toads have this reaction with cats that catch them. Mine have survived fine but they will earn to leave them alone in the future.
