No. If I remember my biology we have 12 thoracic vertebrae which means we have 12 pairs of ribs and one pair of floater ribs, that is, the last pair are not attached to the rib cage properly.

During the Victorian period there was flourishing trade in faked male/female skeletons where the females had one extra rib than the men.

Solely because of the Bible.

Men and women both have the same number of ribs. This make sense biologically and still fits the Bible. Imagine this. A man and a woman decided to marry. The man then loses and arm. It is cut off by a scathing comment in yahoo answers. He and his wife decide to have a child. The child is born. Will it have one arm or two? The answer of course is two. Why? Because we are genetically encoded to have two arms. A code God wrote by the way. So when Adam's rib was removed he had one less rib. His sons however had a full complement of ribs since they were genetically encoded to.

somebody told me that once but the answer is no.

Even if God did take a rib out of Adam without healing the missing rib, Adam's children and their children should have the original number of ribs as God intended.

men and women have the exact same skeletal structure and number of bones. the only difference is the shape and size of some of the female bones

Just cause Adam lost a rip doesn't mean every man now born will have one less rib.
If you lost your arm, would your child be born without an arm?....NO
