MY 2 month old kitten was left home alone for the first time today while I had to go to work for 5 hours....I got home and she was limping badly so I rushed her over to the vet and he said he does not think anything is broken since she is putting some pressure on it and he said if it is still like that on MOnday then bring her back...I was planning on attending a bridal shower tonight and dont want to back out but dont want to leave her alone...should I put her in her carrier while I am gone so she has minimum movement?

yes but make sure she has used the litter box and has food and water available to her before you leave...and how long will you be gone for? no more than several hours will be acceptable to leave her alone in the carrier if you are going to be gone for more than say 3 hours i would just clear out the bathroom (kitty-proof it) with litter box , food and water

You can do this if you have a large carrier, so that there is space to put a small litter box, and a water bowl. The longer you leave the kitten the more you need to also add a food bowl and a few toys.
If you only have a small carrier so that there is no room for a water bowl and litter, maybe you can leave her in the bathroom, with litter, water food and toys, unless there is someone else staying in your place who might let her out.
I hope this helps,
Nancy

I think what you should do is put her in not a cat carrier but like more in a dog crate: That way the cat has some sort of movement but not much. But make sure if you do this you put water, food and a small toy in there so the cat wont be bored and will have food and a drink. Hope this helps you out!

If you don' thave a dog crate, then put her in the bathroom with a folded towel on the floor for her to lay on, and a litter box, food and water. The smaller room will keep her contained.
