How do i dance at this wedding? bridesmaid dance!!?

Ok, im a bridesmaid at my cousins wedding in one weeks time, and ive just found out that the bridesmaids need to have a dance after the bride and grooms first dance. theres only 4 bridesmaids and its quite a big place with lots of people there so all eyes will be on us.

The problem is that we dont know the guys that my cousin has picked to dance with us and i have no idea how to slow dance, i dont even know what type of dance im meant to do!

There isnt a rehersal for us or anything so it will just basically be meet these guys then dance with them, im really nervous about it!

Does anyone know how i should dance, where to put my hands and how to move?

For the attendants' dance, it's most commonly a waltz, so that's easy for you to learn. Have your mom or dad teach you, or an auntie - you don't have to learn anything fancy. It's not the type of dancing you do with a bf, so don't worry about the closeness.
And why in the world don't you know how to dance? That needs to be remedied!!!

Since you don't really know the guys, you would not put both arms around his neck.

Your right hand is held by his left hand. Your left hand goes on his right shoulder and his right hand would be placed on your waist. The just follow his lead. If neither of you are great dancers then you would just shuffle your feet while moving in a circle. It doesn't have to be a fancy dance.

Talk to the other bridesmaids, if you are all that nervous about it then maybe you should meet the guys and practice. Or better yet why not all go to a ballroom dance class together just to get the idea.

Another idea, ask your dad to show you!

just ask the guy you are dancing with where to put your hands then it will all just come to youre head.
