here is a size chart find out how much exactly the pup weighs and then go by the chart for the adult size.
A chihuahua can be anywhere from 2-7 pounds and some actually do get bigger.
The smaller ones thought often have hypoglycemia and other health problems.
if you are getting this very small dog please study up on hypoglycemia and make sure you get a very good health guarantee and have the pup seen buy the vet within 2-3 days of getting her.

The Chihuahua Weight Chart is great to use as a guideline to estimate a mature weight within a quarter of a pound or so. This table is used only as a guide, as many things can affect the mature weight of a puppy. Weight may vary depending on its bloodline, genetics, how well the animal is fed, etc. Weight estimates before the age of 8 weeks old are often inaccurate because the puppy is still nursing or being weaned and may be heavier due to fat from the mother's rich milk. This weight chart only works with purebred Chihuahuas. The weight chart is from a book called "The Complete Chihuahua Encyclopedia" by Hilary Harmar, Pub. 1972, Arco Publishing Co., Inc.

I personally do not like Chihuahuas. Just not my kind of animal at all. A family member that lives with us has one. It barks constantly and at everything. Even if it sees me open the pantry door, it yaps crazily. It yaps insanely when any door opens or closes in the house regardless of if it sees who is coming or going. Makes the cats in the household very jumpy and stressed. 2+ years and the dog still goes crazy over any noise. It barks and chases the cats, stressing them out. A good part of my dislike is the fact that the owner won't teach the dog any manners. Always get the martyr act and anger when I speak up about the problem. Sorry, but it's my house and I'd like some peace and quiet!!! If you get one, you will need to supervise things until the cats accept it, pretty much as you would have to supervise any newcomer to the established household. Be sure you do not fall prey to the newcomer's charms and ignore/brush off the established cats. They are going to need some reassurance or jealousy is going to be a problem.

A purebred is about 6-8 lbs, so I guess she is a teacup.

There is no such thing as a "tea-cup." A chi's normal weight is between 2-6lbs. Congrats on your new baby!
