I want to join the fbi, so i want to get a degree in accounting while in the navy? Would I be able to take accounting aboard a ship? and if so, what is the minimum it would take me to complete my bachelors? I heard it could be done in 6 years.

a degree in accounting, probably not, the courses available on Naval ships are usually core requirements such as Math and English. the specialized courses needed for your degree would most likely NOT be available. However, attending school online is usually doable. just so long as you remember that your duties take precedence.

remember, too, that you will NOT be allowed to take any college courses while in Boot Camp, A and C schools, or until after you get Qual'd at your first Command.. and for some, that could mean your ESWS Pin. Most wait until shore duty to begin taking college courses in earnest. and sea duty can be as long as 6 years.

is it doable? absolutely. Will it be easy? Nope.

The courses that you would take onboard ship back in my days, wooden ships and iron men, were correspondence courses, usually from the University of Maryland. I am sure, however, that you can take courses from any college that offers correspondence . As for the FBI, they might not accept them all.

A degree in accounting is about as boring as a box of rocks.
