Well there are a few reasons why Atlanta is called "Hotlanta"...The obvious reason is because its hot as the living devil in the summer months here!! The temperature has been from 100-103 over the last few days and with the extra added humidity it makes it feel like 105-110. There are really only 2 solid months of winter (January and February) weather then its back to hot weather.
The second reason is a lot of men say Atlanta has the "hottest" or sexiest women in the South.

Hello; It's reffered to as hatlanta, but the 'a' is a longer drawn out 'a'. and the 'h' is a southern drawl, that's added due to accent... which has evolved today, to become Hotlanta... who can say; maybe some idiot thought it was Hotlanta, and it stuck recently... of course, it is hot there in the summer! I've been there a few times!
