i dont know why it was canceled after 10 years!! Amanda Tapping is now on Stargate: Atlantis, and Christopher Judge is going to be in a new movie. The only actor I know that didnt want anything to do with it anymore was Richard Dean Anderson...but why would they cancel it? The fans (including myself) would rather see more of SG-1 than watch another sci-fi show.

It seems that once they reached the "longest running sci-fi show ever" award, they canceled it...which I believe is WAY stupid of them!!!

Ratings...it wasn't worth the production costs to keep the series running with new episodes.

I'm not sure..but it sucked! It's one of my favorite TV shows of all-time (along with Stargate Atlantis)! I couldn't believe it when I first heard that they were going to cancel it. Oh well, at least they're going to have two movies.
P.S. There's a Stargate question you might be able to answer - Stargate? -is the name of the question. It's in the entertainment & music/jokes and riddles department.

It's absolutely awful that it was cancelled. I think they cancelled it because it was getting expensive to produce. It least they are coming out with two movies [Stargate The Ark Of Truth and Stargate Continuum] next year [spring and fall].

SG1 became an excellent teach which would be sorely neglected. i think of i visit omit the character interplay the main of all. the biggest unresolved tale line became the Re'tu tale. the only episode became sturdy, yet did not almost do them justice for the enemy they could have been. I additionally desire the Ori had yet another season or 2 to play out. i became taking area in that arc. I completely plan on paying for the DVDs as they arrive out.
