I got a new box from Comcast for HD TV. Now many channels are tiling ( I think thats the term). Is the box set up wrong ? Do I need different wiring in my house , like a Hi-def wire? Thanks

You probably mean "blocking" - seeing little blocks go all over the place.

This is an artifact of MPEG coding used in HDTV, but you should see it very rarely. It denotes that somewhere in your transmission there are lots of errors.

No need for new wiring, but if you have any splitters/video switches they need to support the higher HD bandwidth.

If the problem persists, call your cable company.

OK FIRST....Tiling is a SIGNAL PROBLEM, not a TV problem....IGNORE the TV, concentrate on the CABLE SYSTEM....

HDMI does have LESS Tiling from the Cable box....are you using it???

You should.....

Do you still have Low Definition Channels below 100??
Look at them, just how snowy/grainy/noisy are they? If they are obviously NOISY, then your Analog and Digital Signals are BOTH WEAK to the box, and you must get the signal level up to 0db....that's ZERO decibels....

IF your Channels below 100 are Crystal - Clear, then you must be losing Digital DATA PACKETS....your Cable guy can verify this....
IF SO, then the Cable guy needs to report this to the guys who work on the main trunk lines.....the NODES and the MAIN satellite downlink.....

Obviously, the box could be bad too....
