If you had a fmily who talked about you behind and in front of your back. made the girls do all the housework and most of the outside work. Doesn't nourish your dreams. and second-guesses your abilities........... and much more. what would you do?

Cinderella, you will have your own castle and find your prince someday! Then the rest of the kinfolk can do their own chores and eat crow! I have a mom who was like that! I didn't have to do all the chores(I wasn't smart enough!), but her and my sister use to dress alike and buddy up. I really felt like the step kid, but I wasnt! My parents were never encouraging me in anything, but sister was considered their little prize! Yea, I had issues and self esteem probs over it all, BUT I have a wonderful hubby, kids, grandkids, and own small business, and own a home! My sister, the golden child is an alcoholic who left her hubby for some guy in another state she met on the sex cam! She also dumped off her golden child offspring on my parents to raise. How about that ending? Karma baby, karma! You just hold your head up, cling to your self esteem and dreams! And I have a feeling you'll live happily ever after!!!!!!!

I would still love them. Go to college. Follow your dreams. I would recommend getting a job and moving out,but that did not work for me. I ended up homeless and moving back in with my family. Finally at 24 I was able to be independent. Don't get married nor attached,unless is someone who's willing to fight for your happiness. I mean,let's face it,people only think of themselves nowadays. We forget that he who serves is greater than the one who is being served. When a man says "I love you" he's saying "I submit to you". Sounds to me like you have an average family. As long as you're not being a victim of abuse(you're are being neglected,a little bit)you should be O.K. Sing at a church,that's what the Pinter sisters did. Oh,by the way;You never gave me your autograph.

Use their negativity to your advantage....succeed in spite of them; let their lack of faith in you motivate you to push forward and prove them wrong. That being said, you have to also realize that in general parents know their children. My father used to anger me on purpose to spur me into action because he correctly recognized a strong stubborn streak in me. He realized that the best way to motivate me to do something was to tell me I couldn't accomplish it....it used to anger me severely until I reached an age where I realized he was consciously using psychology on me. How old was I when I finally figured that out? About 35.

Keep your head up and prove them wrong. If you are over 18, move out and start a new without them if you can. Best of luck.

haha your not alone hun my family is EXACTLY like that. i know it sucks but you just move on. My parents always think im the weakest and cant do anything it sucks i wish i could prove to them but they dont really care. Dont worry if it really bugs you just talk to them about it.

i had the same problem. i finally had to break all ties to my family and honestly after that i felt some much better about my self and my life it was worth it
