My husband swears this marinade I make is "Da Bomb" :)

1/4 cup worchestire sauce (throw some more in there, it wont hurt it!)

1 heaping tablespoon brown spicy mustard

1 heaping teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper + a few more shakes for good luck:)

2 smashed garlic cloves or 1/2 fat teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 fat teaspoon onion powder

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Season with salt, (taste it till it tastes good)

Spice it up a bit with some cayenne pepper

It should have a powerful, peppery taste to it.

Let the steak marinade in this mixture for at least a few hours in a plastic bag. Cook it however you normally would, but save the marinade!!! Also, save (if you can) the juices from cooking (that's if you oven broil it, easiest that way to catch the meat juice).

Combine the meat juices (if any) and the left over marinade and bring to a simmer over medium heat in a saucepan.

Once the steak is cooked to your preference, let it sit for a good 10 minutes, then slice it thin. Pour the heated sauce over the meat and serve.

(Goes great with horseradish spiced mashed potatoes and white wine sauteed carrots)

Hope you enjoy!

Here we go again with the "simple is best" routine, as you want to taste the STEAK, the marinade is for some flavor, but you don't want to overpower the flavor of a good steak.... My recommendation?? Again, keep it simple: Place your steaks in a gallon Zipper Type (the kind with the slide able zipper on top, the disposable ones (think: Hefty or Zip Loc) Add 1/2 cup of Worcestershire sauce, seal the bag, distribute the marinade all over the steaks, place the bag in the fridge for no more than 30 minutes (45 is pushing it, as the meat fibers will start to break down and you'll have a "mushy" steak. You want tender, NOT mushy....) Remove from the fridge and prepare your favorite way......I like to pan fry them, then put them in a 475 F oven for about 12 minutes....Let them rest for 5 minutes before plating them on a WARM plate....Enjoy!! (this method is called Steak Au Poivre (aw poahhVh) Christopher

My tried and true favorite is Southern Comfort Marinade:

1/2 cup A1
1 TBS worstershire
1 TBS brown sugar
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup southern comfort
fresh ground black pepper

Combine all in a zip lock bag and add steak, roll around a bit to coat and let soak for at least a couple hours, then grill*

*grilling is best done over the fireplace, in a log cabin, served with corn roasted on the coals and french bread with Brie cheese toasted over the fire, and while sipping on the rest of the southern comfort!!
