or meditating? Is your life enhanced in anyway when you do?

I find that praying does help when I am in need. I am not religious, just looking to find happiness and I wonder if others have quit doing it because it didn't work for them or if it really is a powerful tool that can change our lives.

Prayer does enhance my life very much. And it has changed my life, that is it has changed me most of all. A person doesn't have to get on knees to pray. You can pray anywhere, even in the shower and as you go about your daily routine. Prayer brings light into the soul.

Sending you a smile to help pick up your day.

If I do not pray, the weather goes foul, the earth starts to quake, people start doing crazy things, floods occur, power outages...er, did I mention I haven't prayed all summer? I think the cosmos is going to careen out of control any minute. Guess I better say a few prayers, eh?

praying is a very powerful tool & i think it is better than mediating, people dont realize that
sometimes God says no or doesn't give an answer right away so this makes them feel that he isn't listening to their prayers and then they start to believe prayer doesn't work. it does inhance me because i know hes listening to every word i say and he is a great listener. i am not involved in organized religion but i am very spiritual.

I used to find it really important (I'm christian) but then I realised it took time, and for some reason my days always went smoother if I didn't pray in the morning and/or the evening. Whether that is a sign thatr Christianity isn't necessarily the corrrect option I don't know, but for me now praying is a minimal if non-existant aspect of my life. I still consider myself christian though.

Prayers makes it possible to make God My Friend.
First of all, it takes time to nurture and cultivate a friendship. You may daily greet or even converse with any number of people—neighbors, coworkers, bus drivers, and store clerks. Still, this hardly means that you are really friends with such ones. Friendship grows as you talk at length with someone, moving from superficial chatter to the expression of your inner feelings and thoughts.
In a similar way, prayer helps me draw close to Jehovah. But adequate time must be devoted to it; more is needed than a quick thank-you at mealtimes. The more I talk to Jehovah, the more I am are able to sort out my own feelings, motives, and actions.

I begin and end my day with prayer and pray throughout the day as well......I try to stay in a constant state of prayer as I am working/teaching.

It helps me and gives me strength. I feel "connected" to God and to others.

I wish you the best!

i am religious, and i believe that God will make things better and can change things for you if you believe in him, and that it may seem as if he isn't doing anything at the moment or right when you want him to but he is in the making of a wonderous gift for you... so just believe and when things get tuff i pray... and you should also....

good luck! and God bless you!

I don't pray...not even in the 'Wishing-Hoping' sense.

I don't believe in that 'powerful tool' thing. I believe that human decency is the only answer...even though it is such an elusive quality.
