1. A powerful nation undermined by crude, yet effective guerilla tactics.

2. Initially a succesful invasion, and what appeared to be a victory was actually far from it.

3. Several 'hotspots' where no matter how much ammunition and bombs are used on it they can never properly be neutralised.

4. A warzone which was flooded with foreign fighters (Al Queda in Iraq, Chinese in Vietnam.)

5. Ever rising casualties of civilians and soldiers alike.

6. Very well organised underground resistance, tied in with civilian areas and regions.

7. The Iraq war is only short of a military draft.

It is worse than Vietnam. Vietnam did no long-term damage to the US and the Vietnamese were able to restore their country themselves. Iraq has, possibly permanently, destroyed America’s standing in the world and its ability to affect international political events; and Iraq as an independent unified state is history.

I thought it already was. although there are no jungles to be ambushed in. This time its urban warfare and road side bombs. its a different style of war but its going to be lenghtly. The U.S just can't pack up and leave, even if the American people want them to.. The international community wont let the U.S just leave so they can clean up the mess. this is a disaster and a problem for U.S governments to come.

No it will never happen, its to short on Jungle and rain Forrest, not good tunnel country either, and the big downer the Arab locals don't use fish paste or chew betel nuts!!

It already is. This is another war providing profits for corporations. Win and end the war and the profits go away.
