Make it so that everyone tolerated everyone else's beliefs, except under the condition that if you choose choice two, there is a two percent chance that everything will backfire and go back to how it was, and you'll never have the chance to fix it again?

Hypothetically, both these choices would bring complete peace.

With His Guidence: "If you destroy religion you destroy morals"? Why does everyone Religious think we Atheists have no morals? I don't need a book to tell me to treat others right.

Male_lonely_shy: How narrow-minded is it if you can't even answer a hypothetical question? I never said I wanted to destroy Religion. Try READING the question before you post next time, huh?

I'd go for tolerance, as if people are more tolerant of people with differing faiths they may also be more tolerant of people of different races and so on. The main problem with religion IS intolerance, eliminate that and you eliminate many of the associated problems with religion.

I think the chance it would backfire is irrelevent, it doesn't matter if it goes back to the way it was, because there's still a 98% chance that it will succeed; if you get the 2% then you've not lost anything.

Just because you may not believe the way we do- you post a question talking about destroying us? How narrow minded is that. There is nothing wrong with Religion. It is the ignorant people that do things in the name of 'Religion' that gives it a bad name. If you actually do a little research before posting a question like this you would have found out that MOST Religions do not preach hatred, bombings, etc.

As much as I'd love to destroy religion forever, I believe that the same creative spark that allowed humans to imagine gods in the first place allows us to dream of new ways to cure diseases, end poverty and starvation, and travel to other planets. If we could give up all religions without giving up the human imagination that created them, then I'd loudly say, "Yes!"

But what would the religiously disposed find to fill the void?Surely you would need to give them the ability to think independently before destroying religion.

Rather than destroy religion, I would prefer to instill critical thinking skills. If after using such skills, people still find truth in some religion, then they should follow it.

Forget tolerance. Demand acceptance.

only one can bring peace in reality... religions have all begun in war, in murder, in violence and require violence in one way or another to exists... the Christians exists so that the KKK can have acceptability... that's it's purpose... Religion is the root of all evil... there fore if you truly want peace on earth the destruction of every religion and allow each person the freedom to live by his or her own conscience is the only solution the only path... it is easier to see truth when we are each to find it for ourselves than in the manipulation damaging habits of religions.
