I've seen people have a conniption fit if someone uses a general four letter word (especially if the curser is a woman) but yet someone can call someone fat, ugly, stupid, a racial/sexual slur or make a very pointed personal remark about a person and no one gets up in arms about that. Any ideas as to that particular double standard in so-called polite society?

That is a good question. Fortunately, there are people who do get up in arms when awful people start talkin' crap (not as many as there could be, but some....)

So to all o'ya' who like talkin' crap, look out!
And to all o'ya who get up in arms--thumbs up!

This is a very good point. Society is filled with false politeness and double standards. I am 5' 2", and people often ask "why are you so short?" I respond "why are you so ******* rude?" Some will throw a fit over me saying ****, even though they said something worse.

It's also disturbing to see how music and TV is sensored. You can't say certain words, graphic or racist concepts can be aired.

I'm very sorry for any racist /sexist comments you have dealt with.

I've yet to figure that out.

When it comes on to what will come out of your mouth, I guess it's whether you were raised around gossips or cursors. I've found both forms of conversation equally distasteful.

It's not looking inward to sweep out hate while taking people to task for something that offends them. It makes no sense.
