Carbs from fruits and vegetables are very good for you.

People say that potatoes are bad because they are high in carbohydrates, which is bad for a low carb diet...as are fruits and yellow vegetables.

The bad carbs come from sodas, candy, cakes, junk food, etc.

White potatoes are bad, but sweet potatoes are good. It is the type of glycemic index the white potatoe has that makes it bad. White potatoes are considered starches and turn in to sugar really fast. The sweet potatoe is a little more complex and takes more time to break down which will keep your insulin levels from spiking making the sweet potatoe better for you. A potato should not be considered a vegetable, but a starchy carbohydrate that should be eaten in moderation.

carbs from fruits and veggies are good for you. potatoes are too, but they have a lot of startch, so you shouldnt have too much too often. the carbs that are bad for you are the ones form things like candy. sugar turns into carbs, so try not to eat too many sweets. the sugar from fruit is healthier than cane sugar, so those carbs are good for you

carbs are a form of sugar.
bad carbs are high glycemic index foods like potatoes, watermelons, sugar, honey, white bread or anything with refined flour.

good carbs are low glycemic index foods like whole wheat bread, floured tortillas.

high glycemic index foods are the ones which raise ur blood sugar very quick because they get into ur bloodstream very quick.

low glycemic is the opposite.

i don't believe in good and bad carbs unless the person is a diabetic. foods like potatoes and watermelons are high glycemic but are healthy. eat in moderation.

potatoes have nothing in them but starch. your body converts the starch to sugar. you might as well eat a donut.
