I am taking a Digital Photography class in college and need to buy a digital camera. Under $200 would be good because my parents are paying for it and they are paying for all of my educational expenses.

Whioh models are good--SONY, etc?
Give the exact model dates and put up LINKS for cameras on sale at certain stores. Thanks.

I also need to buy a MEMORY CARD to insert into my laptop so I can access and "photoshop" my pictures. Know any good or regular ones AND the cost for this.

I really believe buying a camera is an individual choice.
The person needs to read alot of reviews on cameras and learn as much as they can from the internet.
Go to the store and hold them and try them to see what they feel like and how they take pictures.
I can only give a suggestion of what to look for in a new digital camera.
Good Luck

my suggestion
go to yahoo shopping
digital cameras
digital camera GUIDE
be sure to check titles on the left side
the guide should answer your questions

Narrow your choices to 3 or 4 brands and 2 or 3 models from each brand.

Go to shutterbug.com and Search for their review (Sept. 2007 issue) of five 10 megapixel digicams.

Go to steves-digicams.com and read his reviews of the ones you selected. You may also find reviews of them at shutterbug.com.

Go to your library and see if they carry photography magazines. Most all of them publish Buyer's Guides which should be available on their websites.

Canon is best for digital and SLR cameras. Sony is overpriced for what you get because of the name.
