I'm 22 and in the past whenever I needed to lose 5 or 10 pounds, I'd do Weight Watchers and lose the weight. For some reason, this past year- the weight is not coming off. I've done WW just like in the past and have even tried Slim Fast and I cannot lose a pound. I cannot think of anything that has changed in the past year except for my job (which has been better for my eating habits- I snacked alot at my old job- without weight gain might I add!!). My new job is in radiology- I'm an x-ray tech. I really wonder if that would have anything to do with it??? Could I possibly have developed a thyroid problem because of being exposed to little bits of radiation????

Are you a registered rad tech? If so, you should have learned in school that the chances of what you're asking are slim to none. Do you wear a thyroid badge that gets checked routinely? You should be getting zero or close to zero readings.

While it is possible that you are starting to have thyroid deficiency, it could NOT have come from the 'little bits of radiation' you get at work. You did NOT offer the 'big symptoms' of thyroid deficiency, though ... unexplained weight gain, being 'extremely cold' all the time (even when it's hot and everyone else is taking their clothes off, you need a sweater), unexplianed thirst, and feeling 'sick and tired' all the time. Your BEST BET would be to see a doctor and get tested for thyroid and any other things you doctor thinks could be 'wrong' with you ... but I think that there may be something 'different' about your job ... you aren't getting as much 'exercise' ... so start walking a bit more (park a little farther from work, or get off the bus one stop sooner) and go on a 'good diet' and maybe you'll be able to 'lose weight' again ... and you will also be getting into 'truly good shape' instead of 'sliding' because your metabolism was a bit faster before you changed jobs.

remember to call the vet lower back and make clean what the "thyroid problem" is. Cats can particularly in many circumstances develop a hyperthyroid situation while they are older (hypothyroidism is basic in canine and intensely uncommon in cats). If the thyroid is overactive there's a drugs it is used for that. symptoms of an overactive thyroid are insatiable urge for nutrients, eating an unusual volume of water, urinating many times, a customary restlessness or neediness. that's what you may word. The situation motives the blood stress to upward push, straining the middle and could reason problems with the eyes - issues which you does not word. it quite is important that tooth be saved clean as micro organism from plaque can get into the cat's device and injury the kidneys. you could look in her mouth and see what the situation of her tooth are. a minimum of get a replica of the blood paintings(you're entitled to have this by skill of regulation so don't be placed off) from this vet and take it to the low-fee medical institution for evaluation.
