Christianity, with their belief in complete forgivness if all you do is ask god for it, makes it easy for people to do whatever they want to. because there is nothing that we can possibly do that we cannot simply ask forgivness for. and (POOF) we are just as good as we were before....

i prefer beliefs that have some consequenses associated with your actions. not exactally an eternity in hell, but some consequences.

Sister,

I can't give you a good answer BUT how do you know that "many" Christians, of the 1.4 BILLION, cheat on their spouses? Is the number of 'cheaters' 50,000? 1 Million? I'm not being mean but I truthfully don't know why you ask this question without some sort of empirical evidence. How about Muslims? Jewish folks? Atheists? Please don't aim your ammunition at a group without justification.

I am a Catholic.

First what is the source to back up your postion?
I hope you are not basing your opionion because of a few bad apples. Remember, you don't need an excuse to reject christianity. If its not for you, then its not for you. Which is what I say to people that I meet that say that one thing is wrong, or that someone has done some other thing. I always like to say that at least be honest with yourself and say I don't want it, its not me. Don't surround yourself with excuses. You'll feel so much better. Free.
As for me, I'm christian and I will remain that way regardless of who cheats on whom.

A lot of people cheat on their spouses in every type of religion. Why do you generalize? No one is impervious to cheating no matter what you think or believe.

I don't think it's limited to just Christians...the question should just be why do so many people cheat..
It's called falling into temptation. Adultery is a temptation. We all have our weaknesses and unfortunately for us, satan knows what they are. Sometimes a temptation can start out as something so small we don't really even realize we are doing anything wrong until it's too late.

Don't atheists cheat on their spouses? I didn't know that. That is really cool. I love generalizations. Why do so many women nag? Why do so many black people commit crimes? Why to so many Muslims kill innocent people? Ain't this fun?

Because the life-denying tenets of that particular faith fly in the face of biological reality.

Life-affirming faiths view human sexuality as a natural, healthy, glorious, and even sacred thing.
