God literally slaughters anyone who "gets in his ways", from the great flood to the plagues of Egypt. How do we know that killing is bad or not, if the one who "gave" that law was practically doing it all the time. Don't say that "the lord giveth, and the lord taketh." Because it was our parents(in the act of freewill) that brought us to our existence. And don't even start with "god is mysterious" or "who are you to judge god". The question should be: "why didn't you judged/questioned god for all the evil things he did?"

The Bible say do not murder, as in kill innocent people. God however was killing, not murdering. What's the difference you ask? God killed them because they were unfaithful to God, and did not follow God's rules. We are currently the worst that it has ever been, but don't worry, God promised not to send another flood to wipe the unfaithful out. Instead we will receive judgment. Good for some, horrible for others. But I am not the one to decide that.
God bless!

Deuteronomy 32:4, 5 says, "The Rock, appropriate is his pastime, For all his techniques are justice. A God of faithfulness, with whom there is no injustice; Righteous and upright is he. they have acted ruinously on their very own area; they are actually not his infants, the illness is their very own. A era crooked and twisted!" Christians believe interior the attributes describing God. All executions achieved via God are for that reason deemed as "in simple terms" and are not puzzled. case in point, there is adequate reason to have faith toddlers died interior the Flood, the destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah, the destruction of Babylon, and in many different acts of God interior the previous testomony, yet none of them have been deemed "evil" or "unjust" via God's followers in those events. as nicely, a toddler is difficulty to the suggestions of their parent. If the parent chooses to no longer obey, they have chosen a similar for his or her toddler. while a toddler is able to income, comprehend and function their very own questioning awareness, they could now no longer be difficulty to their father and mom' religious judgements. Dont you think of God might desire to examine hearts?

The Bible is not a place to get morals from. It is better to use rational thought to create your own morals. Our species has done this for millions of years, for moral behavior benefits everyone in the group. In fact, it was a behavior selected for by natural selection. Other primates are often seen helping another one of their species, even when it is not a family member; again, this behavior helps the race survive as a whole.

Ignorance and intolerance is what the Bible preaches, and I don't think that's a good way to live.

I can't believe what I saw from some answers already - these people are actually justifying genocide.

Don't forget that in the Bible, he passed down the commandments, one of which was "Thou shalt not kill," almost IMMEDIATELY after drowning the lot of Moses's pursuers. Way to lead by example, huh?

God didn't do ANY evil things. He punished evil people (such as in the Great Flood), that is not evil. And killing isn't bad, MURDER is. If you find a serial-killer it isn't wrong to kill him so he can't murder anyone else. There is a BIG difference.

P.S.

I notice you didn't respond to mine... I wonder why...
