I am fascinated by how people think we are somehow living in the "End Times" (cue scary music). We hear about people equating earthquakes, political unrest, religious intolerance, genocide, etc. as all foreshadowing (cue angelic singing) the return of Christ. Why? People seem to fail to realize that the only reason we know more about these things now is because we are living in a technological age, nothing more. The ability for information to make it to us has only made people THINK the end is coming. The world isn't in any more or less turmoil than it was 100 years ago, the only difference is the technology that allows us to kill ourselves and the ability to broadcast it live. Instead of living with this foolish notion, one should live as though the world will continue ad infinitum, thereby helping to preserve it for future generations. God's not coming, and neither is Satan. It's just us who ultimately will decide whether or not this world lives or dies, and by our hands alone.

abdu l (I'm assuming it's abdul, your typing is just poor), are you suggesting that cave men are real? I'm in complete agreeance with you there, what I am saying is that we ultimately control the fate of this planet (through our use or misuse of its natural resources), not because a God is in control and will come sometime in the near future.

Believer... yes I am. You have wagered that the knowledge of bronze age goat herds who could not explain their surroundings as truth, and I have wagered on modern science and logic.

I have to agree with you on the fact that with the media today, the world just seems so much smaller. So when something happens anywhere on this planet, we know it within hours...and yes, the media manipulates the news any way they want to.

Yes, we should absolutely do all we can to save this beautiful place for future generations. Except that people seem to refuse to take responsibility for their actions (it is so much more convenient to live in denial and play stupid). In general, people like to complain about thousand and one thing (daily!) but don't seem to do much to change it. It's so much easier to blame everything on someone else (family, friends, enemies, god, Satan, aliens...name it).

As for the end of the world...well, if we as a humanity won't take responsibility for our actions than the scenario isn't impossible.

Wrong again. The past century has had more people being killed than any time in history. World wars involving every nation of the world. If you believe the Swiss were neutral, let me introduce you to a few Nazis and Jews and their gold.

Our information age brings news faster and less important things get just as much airtime that before we would not hear about. The thing is the volume and amplitude is greater and will continue to get worse until the end.

We are also beginning to see another aspect of the end. The end of false religion. It has been trying to direct politics for centuries and the political organizations are tired of it. Every political gathering has some clergy prominently on stage trying for as much money and power as possible. This despite Jesus command to be no part of the world.

Soon, in fulfillment of Revelations, Babylon the Great, the world of false religions, will be torn down by the governments of the world and not just beaten but torn apart and utterly destroyed. That is why people are being warned to get out of Babylon the Great while you can, to avoid her fate.

All this horror should not leave us with any bad feelings. We should rejoice, not for the deaths, but for what comes after. Al Gore and Leo DiCaprio would be overjoyed as earth is return to a garden of Eden state. Those living and those resurrected from the dead will get to live in perfection there. Could it get better?

Hi,
Every single generation has thought it was the end-times; however, they did not have a very good grasp on the Word of God.
The end generation would only be ushered in when the Tribe of Judah returned to their God-designated homeland and established a State there.
That event happened on May 15, 1948.
We are now in the Biblical "generation of the Fig Tree".
At no other time could it have been the end generation; but it is now.
Even a newer student of Prophecy would
tell you that Prophecies would come to pass every 30, 40, or even 50 years, now
they come to pass so often that it is
difficult to keep up with them. We are moving so swiftly forward, and moving in such an exact image of what is Written in
the manuscripts, that its mind-boggling.

The most facinating thing about your post is your last statement. It is written that in the end times, scoffers will state that what is
done is not the result of God, but all that is done is "by our hands alone". Very interesting you should put it that way, exactly that way.............hmm....

It is very important to God that each soul show their own true colors; follow your heart
so that those true colors shine brightly.
It will make the weeding-out ever so much more quick and efficient; then the rest of us don't have to sit around and wait too awfully long; we have a spiritual life to get back to.

Hello. There is a difference between THE END and THE END TIMES. We have lived in the end times since Jesus was here on earth. But, certain things have to happen before the actual end of this world.

Almost everything predicted by John in Revelations that is to take place before the end of the world has already occurred. The rise of an anti-Christ and the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem has not taken place yet, but I believe it will before long. I am not predicting 2 years, 10 years or 30 years. The Bible states that no one will know the exact time, but that we can watch events taking place and know when it is near.

Personally, I believe it may be within the next few years. I am basing that on the fact that Israel has become a nation, and it is supposed to happen within a generation of that. The Bible says that man is given 70 years (average lifetime), so I think maybe that is what a generation is referring to. That is just my own belief.

The main thing is to accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior. Then you don't have to worry about any of that. You just have to worry about trying to tell other people of God's love, in hopes that they will accept Him before it is too late

The proverbial "end of the world" is an incredible mistranslation. The word is aeon, meaning "age".

We now live in the latter days of the age of Pisces, the fish. A few more generations and we will enter the age of Aquarius.

The entire Bible myth and its predecessor myths are based on the anthropomorphisis of astrological signs and symbols.

It may not be the end....maybe the end as we know it...things are changing at a rapid pace....overcrowded cities, lack of money and just plain selfishness is where all the killing is coming from...we recreate at a a faster pace (has anyone checked the number of babies being born this year alone) we as a people are straining resources...
