Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the Christians are more about the dogma and with the Islam it is not just a religion but a way of life? Generalizing here with Christians, so please do not think you are a target, but in day to day living, according to a belief structure, the Islam do practice what they preach 9 times out of 10, they not only believe it and quote it, but it is incorporated in every aspect of their day to day, we may disagree with some things about the religion, but in a very real sense I respect the people that are so grounded in their faith. May we learn in our spiritual journey from the faithful in any religion. agree or disagree?

Adelaide, that is a lot to read, but I will make my way through it, not once but twice, because it is very detailed, Blessings

There are many Christians who live rather than preach their faith. As there are many in Islam that preach rather than live. It is that way in all cultures and religions. You can't really take a good sampling when those that preach are louder than those who don't push their religion by words, but live it. Look around. Usually the ones who preach and try to push their religion on others (the dogma was it?) are the ones who are afraid of what others believe and they want others to believe what they do, even if they don't truly understand or know what they are preaching. I live my faith, I will not preach it to others and force them to believe what I do.

I learn by what our Father in Heaven teaches me. I am a Christian, not only on Sunday, but Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday as well. I try to live my life according to God's will. All my decisions are based on my beliefs. That is because the Holy Spirit is guiding me. I don't need any other "religion" to teach me. Only God's Holy Word. And, He's not about a religion. Anyone can say a prayer at the exact same time each day, or any other ritual. That is not faith, but religion. Jesus is not about religion. He is about the heart. I am grounded in my faith.
Jesus said not to pray so that men can see you, the way the heathen do, but go to your Father, when you are alone. You're prayers are not for "show." They are about talking to your Father in heaven. Those who boast about how they pray, and show everyone how they do it are not of God. They do it for their own benefit. What's right about that?

Back in the medieval times, every move, every word, very action taken by Christians were governed by the church. Every minute of their lives, they had their god in mind. The people lived in mud shacks with straw roofs, eating the very poorest of food, so that all riches, all effort could go into building a large rich church. People mumbled prayers continually .
Islam is still at that stage. Muslims brag about Islam never changing. They're proud of being stuck back in Medieval days.
Yes Muslims are grounded in their faith. Others have ungrounded years ago.

I have an old philosophy I go by. I ask my wife and family how my "Spiritual Condition" is. You can tell a lot about someone, by how they treat their loved ones, every day of the week. Not just Sundays.
I think we can learn from other faiths, just as we can learn from anyone on anything.
If someone leads a loving and "Spiritual" life, then they are usually grounded in their faith or "Sprituality".....

its rather a count of timing, the previous testomony is a horror tale and god is in fact an entire sociopath in it, the recent testomony is a little extra suitable yet its nonetheless pleased with slavery and a few different issues. the slave holders of the south durin the civil conflict have been on theologically corporation floor. in prepare nevertheless even people who declare to be religious forget approximately approximately approximately ninety% of what the bible says because of fact its only untenable in a renowned society. the subject with islam is that its no longer on the comparable degree, together as christians deserted extremely some the bible (nevertheless they wont admit it) over the final 2 hundred years, islam continues to be on the degree of taking its texts very heavily

It's hard to separate dogma from a way of life... I sure don't see it as Christianity vs Islam though... :-) I kind of like what St. Francis said, "proclaim the gospel each and every day, and if necessary use words" That's my dogma :-)

Chistianity is based more on freewill and choosing the good over the bad.
Some people are just baptised christians... dont really know about the teachings. I myself havent read the whole bible but i have a rough idea on what its trying to preach.
Do i follow it like a lifestyle to the tee? Well ill tell you what... i base my decisions that i make based on the philosophy of the bible. Do i follow it 100%? Well nobody is perfect.

Strictly within the confines of dedication and commitment - yes, agreed.
Otherwise, ............NO!
Christianity and all it's so called 'dogma' still reign in my heart and soul, the devine message of love and forgiveness is supreme -- and given to us by God himself.
Also what could be more dogmatic than compulsion by mortal threat?

Jesus is the Way, The Truth, and The Life. Jesus said that just because you call yourself a Christian does not mean that He calls you one. only those who live a Goldly righteous disciplined life will enter into the Kingdom.

Both paths are for "people of the book." If you want to live your life that way -- live by words written thousands of years ago, rather than live by your own personal experience today -- then I really don't see all that much difference between the two faiths.
But that's me. Your mileage may vary. :)
