I am skinny on top but I have quite fat thighs- is there a way to tone up and lose weight on just that part of the body? I have tried running but that doesn't really help, it just builds up muscles in my quadraceps.

Hi,

First I want you exhale a sigh of relief, because you can lose weight on your thighs.

What I'm gonna show is how to balance out your body's shape because you are skinny on the top and heavier on the bottom, so what you need to follow some of my tips let me work on your symmetry.

Tip 1.
use dumbbells to work on your shoulders, giving yourself slightly broader shoulders to balance out your symmetry, because with your body type when you lose weight you will always lose more on the top, so what we're doing here is maintain the shape on your upper body while we give your legs time to slim down and look more noticeable.

Tip 2.
Do lunges and sumo squats 12-15 reps for 2 sets, followed by cardio (walking, cycling) at a slow pace for about 45 mins, too much intense cardio like running will only build too much muscle, this tip should always be done first thing in the morning on a empty stomach, this will force your body to use fat and muscle mass for fuel, resulting in slimmer legs

Tip 3.
Eat 5-6 small meals a day consisting of mainly protein and veg and good fats like olive oil, Avocado, Almonds, consume most of your carbs(rice, wholemeal bread, sweet potato) early in the day, this way you'll have enough energy to get you through most of the day, after 1pm you can now eat just protein and good fats, doing this will prevent any weight gain.

Tip 4.
Use a good weight loss supplement, you can find a few good ones on the market like Lean system 7, Tight, Lipovox and CLA which can help your body to burn an extra 25-50 calories a day, which might not sound like much but add that all up by the end of the week and it results to quite a bit.

Tip 5.
Always change your workout every 4-6 weeks, the last thing you want is for your body to adapt, so by always changing your routine, your body is always recieving a shock and doesn't get too complacent.

Try these tips and let me know how you get on.

Unfortunately you cannot pick where your body decides to put or lose fat. You have a pearshape and it means you have less chances of getting heart disease than people who have an apple shape.
The only thing you can do is to do aerobic exercise and this will take fat odd everywhere. Look toned by not doing too many weights with your legs.
