I hear these a lot, but I don't really know what exactly (specific examples) that these phrases mean.

ok well get a life means, you cant stop yourself from havign adventures. u have to get outside, and do something worth wild. dont sit around at home watching TV or log into yahoo answers all day long, get a hobby, get some friends, get a girlfriend, or get a job. just get up in the morning knowing that u have a reason to live.

I'm not completely certain, but I HAVE "heard" it said and inferred by "haters" and other critics that WE who spend a bit of time here on "Yahoo Answers" should just go out and "get a Life" instead... Little do these cretins realize: I've ALREADY had MINE.

This usually is a statement made to a person that is a "home body". The person usually stays at home all of the time and watches TV or uses YAHOO ANSWERS to pass the time.

Someone would say "get a life" to you if they thought that you were bothering them with something of little importance and that would be a waste of time to them. It is simply a mean thing to say to get someone to go away.

it can mean to stop bothering me or it could mean you life is pathetic and you need to do something about it.
like if someone is gossiping about stuff that is not their business you could say "get a life" meaning find something else to worry about that has more substance

"Get a life" means you're a loser who is doing something stupid and you have nothing better to do than sit around doing stupid stuff.
