I am a Christian and always will be, but I discovered a long time ago that this goes on. This is why I believe a pastor should not be a paid position. Let the congregation do everything but preach. Why should someone get paid to give a sermon. Let Him work a regular job like everyone else, then he wont be tempted. what does a pastor do that couldn't be done by volunteers from the church?

This is the downfall of the Christian faith. This is why i left the Christian faith.

No one can preach Jesus and get wealthy doing do and maintain their salvation. They have received their reward on Earth.

If these people do go to Heaven, the Christian God and the Bible are liars.

I will never again believe that Christianity is any more than a false religion led by people out to make a buck.

But, in the name of fairness, you should also mention that there are many pastors who accept no pay whatsoever for their services, and work jobs outside their ministry. I've met several pastors who lived well below the poverty level. My own pastor lives in modest quarters. Just because some pastors have gotten wealthy doesn't mean that they all have.

Yes. If they live in an expensive area and thereby spend all of the church's money to pay for it, I have a problem with that. That money should go to help the church and the needy. Pastors are supposed to live somewhat of a life of poverty, so before you ask, no, they aren't entitled to live in a nice area.

A pastor should live as close to their congregation as possible. He should make home visits to every member, especially the shut-ins. Be close in a crisis. and so on. T4

It is a lucrative business... I believe you can tell the sincere believers/ministers from the exploiters by just this type of thing...

Clearly, this person is serving herself, not others.

**The land is tax free if she has deeded it in her ministry's corporate name... what a deal, eh?
